Remington Arms, a well-known American shotgun manufacturer, is closing its plant in Ilion, New York, nearly 100 years after it opened.

The shutdown is expected to be finished by early March 2024.

The corporation has struggled as a result of New York Democrats' approval of gun control legislation.

"I am writing to inform you that RemArms, LLC has decided to close its entire operation at 14 Hoefler Avenue, NY 13357," Remington wrote to Ilion employees. 

The Company anticipates that activities at the Ilion Facility will be completed by March 4, 2024."

"This facility, which received investment from the state, employs many local residents," the MPs said.

"Unfortunately, like we have seen all too often in New York, burdensome regulations, crippling taxes and problematic energy and other policies continue to force businesses and companies to flee the state, taking jobs and livelihoods with them," according to the state officials.
