Beyoncé's 'Renaissance' Concert Film Is Expected to Make More Than $22 Million at the Box Office

Beyoncé's new concert film is expected to have a strong first weekend at the box office.

Renaissance: A Film about the Superstar Singer According to The Hollywood Reporter, By Beyoncé is expected to generate between $22 and $24 million in its American premiere,

making it the biggest early December opening in two decades.AMC Theatres, the film's distributor, is playing it cautious with a domestic debut of $20 million. 

Renaissance, which opened in theatres on Friday (Dec. 1), is also expected to begin in the $20 million area globally, for a total global start of $40 million.

The period following Thanksgiving is often quiet at the box office. According to THR, Tom Cruise's The Last Samurai had the highest opening weekend for the first weekend of December, with $24.3 million (not adjusted for inflation).

Renaissance had star-studded debuts in Los Angeles (Nov. 25) and London (Nov. 30) prior to its Friday debut.

Taylor Swift and other celebrities, including Michelle Williams, Blake Lively, and, attended the latter.

The concert documentary, which covers her record-breaking Renaissance World Tour, was written, executive produced, and co-directed by the 32-time Grammy winner.
