Brazilian Police Say Taylor Swift Fan Death Investigation Is 'Underway'

On Friday, Nov. 17, 23-year-old Taylor Swift fan Ana Clara Benevides died at the singer's Eras Tour in a record-breaking heatwave. An inquiry is underway.

After Benevides died and other Swifties complained about concert conditions, Rio de Janeiro authorities are investigating Time4Fun.

The Brazilian company that organized Swift's stop in the beachfront city, according to NBC News.

A police spokeswoman informed the news organization that the consumer delegations team will look into whether or not "the life and health" of concertgoers were at danger on November 17.

The spokesperson stated, "Event organizers will be called to testify, and other steps are underway to investigate the facts."

This update follows the social media statement made by Time4Fun CEO Serafim Abreu, who said, "We know the enormous responsibility we have to organize an event of this scale.

Which is why we did not economize in our efforts or resources to follow the best global practices in our industry to guarantee the comfort and safety of all."

"All who did not have the best possible experience" did receive an apology from Abreu, who also said that "alternative steps" may have been done.
