College football rankings: Projecting Playoff teams, top 25 ahead of championship week

Will the College Football Playoff era's greatest conference championship weekend occur this year?

That's how the four-team CFP may end up. There are now four unbeaten Power 5 teams. With one loss, Ohio State is once again on the outside looking

in, but seven of those teams participating in the conference championship games have real chances of making the playoffs.

The rematch between Washington and Oregon will decide the Pac-12 title, and the quarterback duel between Bo Nix and Michael Penix could decide the Heisman Trophy.

Is Texas making a comeback? Like, this time for real? A win over Oklahoma State would give the Longhorns the Big 12 championship on their way to the SEC.

The championship game between Georgia and Alabama could just as easily serve as the College Football Playoff championship game, as it has twice in the four-team era.

Even without quarterback Jordan Travis, Florida State can complete a perfect season. The other seven teams still in the hunt are all rooting for Louisville to pull off an upset in prime time.

Jim Harbaugh returns to Michigan just in time for a rematch of the Big Ten championship game against Iowa in 2021.
