Cowboys Start Wave of 53-Man Roster Cuts by Releasing Ex-TCU Star: Report

Starting with a young player about to start his second season with the Dallas Cowboys, the team started the process of reducing their roster to 53 players.

 The first two players to be cut were offensive lineman Alec Lindstrom and defensive end Ben Banogu, however quarterback Will Grier had been informed a few days previously that he would be released.

The news of Lindstrom and Banogu's release was originally broken by reporter Michael Gehlken of Dallas Morning News. After making an impression at TCU,

Banogu was hoping for a kind of Dallas homecoming, but it looks like he'll have to take his skills somewhere."The Cowboys have started the challenging process of cutting their roster to 53 players.

Center Alec Lindstrom has been informed that he has been waived. Gehlken writes on X that "he spent 2022 on the Dallas practice squad." 

"A person familiar with the decision said that the Cowboys have informed DE Ben Banogu that he has been released." 

 The former TCU star and 2019 second-round selection played with the Colts for the previous four seasons.
