'Delighted' to share an exciting update, Sam Heughan of Outlander says 

Sam Heughan, an actor from Outlander, expressed his happiness at returning to work following the end of the protracted Hollywood strike. 

The US actors union Sag-Aftra and studio executives have reached a "tentative" agreement to put an end to the historic 118-day strike. 

The union announced on Wednesday that, as a result of a "unanimous vote," the longest walkout in its history will end on Thursday at 12.01 a.m. US Pacific time. 

On July 14, the union, which stands for about 160,000 workers in the business, stopped operations, 

severely disrupting Hollywood productions.The Writers Guild of America (WGA), which has over 11,000 members, 

and studio executives came to an agreement in September following 146 days of strikes over wage disputes and concerns about artificial intelligence. 

And now, as filming for the final season of Outlander begins, Scottish actor Sam, who plays Jamie Fraser in the popular television series Outlander, 

has expressed his happiness at being able to return to the set.
