Dwayne Johnson's Fast & Furious Reboot Plans Confuse Me, But His Next Movie Will Be A Remake of Moana

The live-action Moana was initially envisioned as a future project when it was first announced.

However, the project has accelerated since then. And based on his statement that the live-action film is his next project,

it seems that Dwayne Johnson is actually preparing to play Maui again. If you love Moana,

then this is fantastic; if you're looking forward to the next Fast & Furious film, then maybe not so much.

Johnson revealed that Moana will be his next film, and that he will be playing Maui again, during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

His enthusiasm for the project is evident in the way he discusses it. Johnson declared...Although the title role has not yet been cast,

Johnson did not specify when filming would start. Moana is currently scheduled for release in June 2025.

This would mean that filming could begin as late as next summer, or at any point in the next few months.
