Every Marvel Cinematic Universe Movie Ranked Worst To Best

As Marvel's Phase 5 begins, here's our complete list of MCU movies. Marvel Studios has become the most powerful force in Hollywood, collecting $29.6 billion at the global box office in just over a decade and redefining how studios approach blockbuster franchises.

And, while there are numerous reasons for this, one of the most important is that their films are generally excellent.It wasn't long ago that decent superhero pictures were the outliers that proved the rule when it came to comic book movies,

and even those brilliant instances - Superman: The Movie, Batman 1989 - gradually faded away in sequels. Even after the triple-tap of Blade, X-Men,

and Spider-Man at the turn of the 2000 gave the genre legitimacy, the scales were still weighted against costumed heroes; the third entries in each of the trilogies those films formed were duds that ended the trilogies or led to reboots.

Typically, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is divided into three chronological narrative phases: Phase 1 (six films released between 2008 and 2012) depicts the formation of the original Avengers;

Phase 2 (six films released between 2013 and 2015) depicts the impact of superheroes on the world; and Phase 3 (ten films released between 2016 and 2019) depicts the Infinity War against Thanos,

as well as the introduction of a new generation of heroes. And, beginning in 2021, Phase 4 charted a new multiversal course,

dealing with the fallout from Endgame, before Phase 5 officially transitioned to the Multiverse Saga in 2023.
