Foxx Emotional in First Public Appearance After Medical Scare: ‘I Couldn’t Actually Walk’

Monday saw Foxx honored at the Critics Choice Association's Celebration of Cinema & Television.

Foxx, 55, gave an emotional award acceptance speech at the Critics Choice Association's Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Black, Latino, and AAPI Achievements in Los Angeles on Monday, discussing his health concern.

Thank you, everyone. Something happened to me. The Burial star Foxx accepted the Vanguard Award, saying,

"I've been through some things." “That's crazy—I couldn't do that six months ago. "I couldn't walk either," he said, crying.

Foxx expressed gratitude, saying, “It feels good to be here. I value every moment now. It differs. It differs.”

What I went through is tough, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Near the end, when you see the tunnel, he said.

“I saw the tunnel. I missed the light!" So he joked. "That tunnel was scorching, so I didn't know where to go. Am I going somewhere right? I saw Satan say 'C'mon, now.'"

In another humorous occasion, Foxx denied rumors that he was a clone. I know several who said I was cloned. Boy, you're not s---, he joked.
