How Does ‘Black Adam’ Tie Into ‘Shazam’?

The addition of the Justice Society as well as Dwayne Johnson's evil demigod to the DC Extended Universe substantially increases the breadth of the DC Extended Universe

Even characters from The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker appear, demonstrating that James Gunn's tenure in the DC Universe is just getting started.

While the most of the Easter eggs in the film are related to Adam and the Justice Society's history,

there is another DC hero who plays an important role in the plot. Who is that hero? Billy Batson/Shazam (Asher Angel/Zachary Levi) himself.

The source of Billy and Adam's powers is the strongest link between them. Adam's capabilities are bestowed to him by a council of wizards,

who bestow upon him abilities from the Egyptian pantheon of gods. When Adam says "Shazam!"

he has godlike powers such as superhuman strength and durability, flight, and the capacity to create lightning. But there's a twist to Adam's power acquisition.

He was not chosen as Khandaq's champion; instead, that honor fell to his son Harut (Jalon Christian).

Harut chose to transfer his power to Adam in order to spare his life, and he was killed soon after.
