Kim Mulkey of LSU WBB Reveals Sa'Myah Smith's Injury Status

Mulkey reports that the sophomore forward suffered a knee injury in the Cayman Islands.

Kim Mulkey confirmed on Wednesday that LSU forward Sa'Myah Smith will miss the rest of the 2023-24 season after tearing her ACL, MCL, and meniscus in the Cayman Islands last week.

Smith suffered the non-contact injury in the first game of the Cayman Island Classic against Niagara, going down on a fast break.

It's a tough blow for the Tigers, whose front court depth is still an issue. Smith, who spent the offseason in Baton Rouge working on her game, made significant strides in the right direction during LSU's first seven games.

In seven games, the sophomore forward averaged 11.7 points and 7.6 rebounds while shooting a team-high 66 percent from the field.
