Lainey Wilson's boyfriend won her over with a low-cost first date.

To win Lainey Wilson's heart, no flashy locations or high-end cocktails are required. The singer claims that when she initially met her partner,  

Devlin "Duck" Hodges, he impressed her with his thrifty date place choices. "We went to this old place called Silverado's, and it had free beer and wine from 5 to 10PM,"

Wilson recalls of the couple's first date to People. "I was like, 'This boy, too, likes to ball on a budget.'" 'This is going to work out.'" 

Wilson met Hodges, a former pro quarterback who signed as an undrafted free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019. Wilson and Wilson had been dating for two years, but Wilson wanted to take things slowly  

They are so sluggish that they only "I'll be honest, as a female in country music, there are definitely times when you need folks to know you're here to show up and work and get down to business,"

Wilson said at the time to Taste of Country Nights. "I wanted to make sure it was about my music.Wilson isn't the kind to bring a date to an awards show on her arm if the relationship isn't serious. 

"If I'm going to invite you to walk the carpet at a country music awards show, you have to be very, very special to me and very important in my life." And you can't be going anyplace. So... yeah.  

He's not going anywhere," she declares.Not only is Hodges attending Wilson's industry gatherings, but he may even appear in her songs. Wilson is presently working on her second album,
