Outlander star Sophie Skelton lands next lead movie role

Fans will recognize Skelton as Brianna Fraser in Outlander, which is now in the middle of its two-part seventh season.

Sophie Skelton, the star of Outlander, has scored her next big role in the upcoming film Row.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the thriller is directed by Matthew Losasso and will star Humans' Bella Dayne, Red, White & Royal Blue's Akshay Khanna, and Before We Die's Mark Trepan.

The plot revolves around a lady who washes ashore on a bloodstained rowboat, and with her crewmates missing and assumed dead, she must establish her innocence by piecing together her memories.

"An immense ocean appears to stretch infinitely in all directions and yet on board the Valiant, the lack of space fuels paranoia and intense drama," he remarked.

"It's a compelling and fabulously ambitious script."Throw in a twisty dark plot, difficult procedures to avoid green screen backdrops,

a determination to represent the rough grandeur of ocean scenery, and the limits of indie filmmaking, and you've got yourself a task."

Row was scripted by Nick Skaugan and will begin filming next month in Scotland with the usage of a built tank to prevent the use of VFX.
