Simone Biles attends the US Gymnastics Worlds Team Selection Camp: live updates and analysis

There is one task remaining before the US ladies depart for the international gymnastics championships, which begin next week in Antwerp, Belgium.

The two-day selection camp to determine the six gymnasts for the U.S. travel squad begins Tuesday night, and the gymnast with the highest all-around score after Day 1 automatically secures a spot.

Last month, the 19-time world champion won her record eighth US title by nearly four points,

a staggering margin in a sport where gymnasts are frequently separated by tenths of a point. No other American comes close to Biles as long as she stays healthy.

The final five gymnasts on the traveling squad will be announced Wednesday night, following the second day of competition.

The five-person team and alternate will be announced before the world championships begin.

The women's team is in a qualifying session on Oct. 1, with the team final on Oct. 4.Throughout the evening, USA TODAY Sports will give the most up-to-date information, highlights, and commentary. Follow along.

Midway through the competition, there was a scoring error that temporarily altered standings.
