The Avengers' First Scene Justifies Loki Season 2's Ending

In Loki season 2, Loki accepts an evil quest, foreshadowing his final destiny as the God of Stories.

The Mind Stone was stored in Loki's scepter in The Avengers, demonstrating Loki's capacity to wield strong Infinity Stones.

In Loki season 2, Loki's capacity to tolerate and manipulate temporal radiation shows his inherent power, which he had been inadvertently showing since his time with the Mind Stone.

Loki took his place as the God of Stories in the MCU at the end of Loki season 2, and the opening scene in The Avengers justified his ascent 11 years previously.

With Loki being such a cornerstone of the MCU, it's easy to forget that the lead of the Disney Plus series Loki is not the same as the original Loki from the Sacred Timeline,

who served as a villain for a longer period of time. Despite this, Loki's brief appearance in the main MCU timeline -

in Thor and The Avengers - was enough to set up his ultimate role, while his Sacred Timeline version helped to wash Loki's image emotionally.

The Avengers begins with a brief scene of Loki communicating with The Other, who is acting on Thanos' behalf. The Other bestowed him Loki his wicked quest: to retrieve the Tesseract on Earth in exchange for its servitude under him.
