The World's Most Deadly Assassin Gets New Life as 'John Wick 5' Is Confirmed

According to Joe Drake, chair of Lionsgate's Motion Picture Group, a new cinematic world is developing "

organically" from the "John Wick" trilogy. On May 25, 2023, Drake revealed something shocking to Wick fans during a conference call: "John Wick" will have a fifth chapter.

The chairman revealed little further about Chapter 5 that moviegoers might delve into,

but he did announce that the first spinoff of the franchise would debut in 2024 and would be followed by two more television shows, one of which would be a prequel series called "The Continental."

As you are aware, Ballerina is the first official spinoff that will launch the next year. Drake informed investors that "

"we're in development on three more, including five and the television series, The Continental, which will be airing soon."

We're developing the world, and when the fifth film is released, it will naturally develop from the way we're beginning to present those stories. But John Wick always has a consistent rhythm."

Set in the John Wick world, "Ballerina" stars Ana de Armas ("Knives Out," "The Gray Man") as a Ruska Roma assassin who trains at the same institution as John Wick.
