The Zelda Movie's Best Bet Is A Brand New Link Incarnation To Add To Canon

One of the more pressing problems raised by the announcement of a live-action Legend of Zelda film is which form of Link the film will follow, but a whole new incarnation would be the best path ahead. 

Since The Super Mario Bros. Movie shown that video game film adaptations can be successful, Zelda fans have been eager to see the same done with the Hyrule storylines. 

The stories of these games, however, are significantly more intricate than Mario's, with a complex backstory and dozens of incarnations of its principal character. 

Finally, the future Zelda film might choose between any of them.The Legend of Zelda is one of Nintendo's oldest video game brands, with the first game launched in 1986. 

This first title had a basic enough plot: a young boy named Link must assist Princess Zelda in her fight against the evil Ganon by collecting Triforce shards.

The games only got more intricate from then, with each taking place at a distinct point in Hyrule's countless centuries of history. 

Though Link, Zelda, and Ganon appear in each title (to varying degrees), they are different forms of the characters seen in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
