Truist Park may influence Shohei Ohtani's free-agency choice.

Since Alex Anthopoulos became general manager, the Braves have not made a big splash in free agency;

instead, they have rewarded their own players and acquired stars through trades before extending them.

Alex Anthopoulos may finally dangle his toes in the free-agent pool this cycle, but Shohei Ohtani would be diving in headfirst.

It's evident that Anthopoulos has been given the go-ahead to spend a significant amount of money ,

because there were rumors that before Aaron Nola signed a contract to return to Philadelphia,

Atlanta made him an offer of $162 million spread over six years. It's another matter entirely whether he is permitted to reach the lengths required ,

to entice the largest free agent fish in league history.Atlanta is benefiting from certain factors.

According to Jon Morosi, Ohtani is "intrigued" by the prospect of playing for the Braves.
