Watch Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood Sing ‘Imagine’ at Rosalynn Carter Funeral

At a memorial service for the former first lady on Tuesday, Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks paid tribute to Rosalynn Carter by performing a rendition of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "Imagine."

Yearwood took the lead vocals at the start of the performance, while Brooks played the acoustic guitar and contributed some background vocals.

By the time the performance was over, a few more musicians had subtly entered the scene, contributing gentle piano and choir singing.

Because they both worked with Habitat for Humanity, Yearwood and Brooks had a close friendship with Carter and her husband, former president Jimmy Carter.

The Carters had long supported the cause, and after Hurricane Katrina devastated the area, Yearwood and Brooks got active with the group.

The two couples often collaborated on construction projects together, and this year Yearwood and Brooks formally assumed the role of hosts.

Brooks stated, "We feel very lucky and very fortunate to still be a part of what they stand for," during an October interview with CNN.
